The Livorno City Sightseeing will take you to explore the vibrant pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea: an incredible journey to discover together the history, the culture, the traditions of this charming city founded by the story o an eclectic mixture of cultures. The classic formula of the ticket valid for 24 hours with the hop on hop off possibility at will, offers the visitors the freedom to choose the following opportunities:shopping in the beautiful streets of the center;stroll on the scenic and elegant liberty waterfront;discover the old uphill to the historical-religious village Montenero, using the old funicular;visit the beautiful city museums.Continue exploring the city on board the typical 'Boat trip "in the Seventeenth Century District of Venice, observing the unusual perspective of the channels, the Medici City of the Merchants , the old Foreign Community, the Port, the Baroque Churches of the imposing historical palaces. Our trip will start from the central square where the political and administrative heart of the city beats. We will pass through the historical and picturesque district of Venice, facing the waterways which once allowed the transport of goods up to the cellars that overlook below the street, we will admire also the two Medici fortresses and the typical small American market.Coming out from the streets of the city, visitors will be able to admire the beautiful waterfront and the great Terrazza Mascagni (with its distinctive checkerboard flooring extending for more than 8,700 square meters), the Aquarium and the numerous dining places. Finally we will arrive at the foot of the Sanctuary of Montenero, known as the center of pilgrimage and of undeniable charm and mystique thanks to one of the largest and most impressive testimonials of given graces of Italy: the gallery of ex -votos.The trip aboard the open-top bus continues taking tourists inside the museums, inside the birth house of Amedeo Modigliani, in the historic Central Market Hall, monumental nineteenth-century building considered the largest in Europe, where it is possible to find products typical of the Livorno culinary tradition, and outside, between the stalls of the adjacent small market, much folklore. The bus is available for hire for events such as birthdays, weddings, etc.

Our ship’s shuttle dropped us at Piazza del Municipio, two blocks away from the city’s cathedral. It was Easter Sunday morning and the area was fairly quiet, save for passengers from the ships in port, who were sightseeing independently. Most first time visitors of course ignore the town of Livorno, and head straight to Florence and Pisa, so there wasn't... More

Modern shops, good cafe culture and beautiful Italian goods we visited from a cruise liner and the port is in easy walking distance with no hills of note to worry the traveller. a lovely sea front mixed with modern boutiques and café and restaurants. Good for people watching, shopping and an alternative to dashing off to Pisa.

Ideal. Lots of inexpensive shops. Bags 28 euros. Shoes 15 euros. Nike and Adidas trainers 100 euros. Skirts, tops 15-25 euros. Unknown shops plus the usual H&M, Zara. We have a nine year old too. Two toy shops. The usual hight street prices of the Entertainer toy shop. My teenage daughter liked the market stalls in Pisa, selling capes and... More

Livorno is a major port town. Very industrial. We had not done alot of research so when we drove into the city past the huge oil refinery and docks...we quickly realised it was not what we recommend for a family holiday...we left pretty quickly ..enough said.

On the western coast of Italy with population approx 160,000 what a very pleasant city to arrive on a cruise ship early in the morning and seeing the sunrise and looking over the city was awesome. Arrived on a Sunday and took a bus into Livorno town central (to await another bus to Pisa - tuscanybus.com ((city sight seeing Livorno))... More

We came to Livorno on a cruise and as we have already been to Florence and Pisa decided to take this bus tour. It goes all around the city, past the canals [highly over rated - not at all like Venice as is suggested],along the sea front and ends at the funicular to visit the monastery[50c ticket included]. As the... More

The route includes a visit to the Sanctuary of Montero, aka the Shrine of our Lady of Grace. Not to be missed! The final approach to the basilica is by funicular railway, a delight in itself. There is a gallery in the basilica iilustrating various accidents which have befallen the unwary, eg being run over by a bus, kicked in... More

We were on a ship stop over and did the train trip to Pisa, good train ride, but Pisa was hot and sticky with lots of people doing selfies all over the place so we went back to Livorno. Great little town. But if you want to find stuff, you need to walk round to old part. The Boat trip... More

Having visited Livorno on a cruise several times before and done the trips to Florence, Pisa, Lucca and the Cinque Terre, we decided to explore the city itself. We had hoped to use the City Sightseeing Hop On Hop Off Bust Tour we've used in other cities but apparently it's no longer operating ? I think I know why !... More

We have visited Livorno twice, both times on a cruise. The first visit a couple of years ago we bypassed Livorno completely as we took a cruise ship tour to Florence. This time, as more experienced cruisers, we decided we would make our own arrangements to go to Pisa and spend some time in Livorno too. Livorno is definitely in... More
