The wall gives a view of the old city of Lucca. And it is amazingly beautiful. I was running om the wall one morning and was feeling blessed to see the city from the top. The run/walk is around 4 km and in this summer...More

Grab a bike from one of the many rental places and cycle round the walls. A great way to view the whole of the city and to cool off as there is a lot of shade and a nice breeze most of the time.

A great way to see Lucca and the surrounding countryside, you can amble around the walls, there are places to sit and you can leave the walls and go back into Lucca at numerous points.

Come to Lucca and rent a bike from any vendor along the old town city wall. Any part of the wall is easy to get to and wide enough to bike easily. Our girls, ages 11 and 14, absolutely loved it! It is well shaded...More

The walls are very peaceful compared wit the bustle of the city. We hired bikes and cycled round -4kms- later we walked round. You get a different peerspective on many of the sights when seen from the wall

Picturesque and pleasant for a walk around the city or for a bike ride. We rented a bike/rickshaw built for 4 and rode around the perimeter on top of the wall. It was fun and pleasant with the trees providing shade from the hot sun....More

A lovely relaxing walk where you can walk at any pace the wall gives you the availability to view the city from all parts. You can exit from the various gates. A lovely part of the city. Cool and shaded with all the beautiful trees.

The still intact walls of Lucca are walls that draw visitors in and welcome to stay! Great morning walk. Quiet and serene.

At least 2 bike hire places located close to the entry/exit points of the wall. Easy to spot in such a small town.
