This cathedral and its associated museum make an educational visit when in Lucca. Its a good sampling of history, architecture, art and relics. The Volto Santo di Lucca seems to be the most well-known art piece to visit here. There is a bell tower to...More

In spite of Lucca not being a major city or so well known, it has a beautiful Duomo, and worthwhile the visit, must be seen.

Beauty and architecture rolled together as in most large Italian churches. Being in the relatively "quiet" city of Lucca, it has a charm all of its' own. Within the wonderful stone walls rests the "Holy Face of Lucca" - a large wooden crucifix carved in...More

I purchased a ticket for only the bell tower, il campanile. Just inside the door, tell the person you want only the campanile. Then the entrance is outside the church to the right and around the side of the base of the campanile. Enter the...More

Some very good artwork for a small town cathedral. The centerpiece is a very old large crucifix that has drawn pilgrims for centuries. Legend says the cross is or is made from the true cross of Jesus.

Visited today. We just saw it and decided to stop. We ends up getting 3x ticket that gave us entry into here, the tower as well as the museum. Artwork was great in the church and the museum. The tower was okay as well.
