This apparently is the largest share in Lucca, and is often used for celebrations and concerts, It is not as charming as some of the smaller squares but it does have restaurants and small shops

Big space in the city centre surrounded by smaller piazzas. A few market stalls offering assorted foods and trinkets.

The main square of the city is also known as the Piazza Grande due to the vast space it occupies. Its main building is the “Palazzo Ducale” or “Palazzo Pubblico”, but the square is best known as the main venue of the Lucca Summer Festival...More

Visited the piazza for the second time to checkout Lenny K. Show was great and the venue was great. Buildings all around make the concert quite intimate, even with hundreds of people.

It is unbelievable how this small lovely square turns into centre of music and summer festival. Concerts here are unforgetable, thanks to the intimate atmosphere. You have a feeling of being reall close to the stage and musicians. This year's Lenny Kravitz concert was a...More

This was not the best time to visit the square, where we have been already some years ago. Nowadays it is a huge construction site, but we still remembered how nice it was before.

I always stayed in the middle of the town. Think to have seen taxi's around so I guess it won't be a problem. Enjoy your stay! Leave the piazza Napoleone in the south side (where traffic is allowed) and you will find a taxi.
