I loved walking through this street to get to the center of Lucca. There are many interesting buildings, towers, and shops along the way. There was a medium amount of tourists making the street lively without it being too crowded.

Via Fillungo offers a lot of shopping opportunities with ample designers shops eg Max Mara. For me Via Fillungo can get a bit busy but I do enjoy late afternoons here. Great street to buy something special at Cartoleria Biagioni and L'Erbolario.

Wow this is such a beautiful street with lots of winding alleyways. There is a real historic atmospheric feel. Lots of lovely little shops either side, many with the original name plate above the shop.

Via Fillungo is the main street and also the main shoping street in the beautiful Lucca! It's amazing for such a small town the diversity of brands available and also the many shops with handmade leather products or fashion items.

Wonderful cobbled street winding through the heart of Lucca. Filled with great, unique shops, restaurants and neighborhood people. A great experience.

Don't limit your gaze to the fancy shops, though they're worth checking out. Many of them are located on the ground floor of medieval and renaissance palaces, so keep looking up, and into any courtyards you can peer into. The street runs from the centyer of town to to the northernmost gate. Many attractive little streets run off to the sides, all worth exploring, and some of them lead to interesting churches, squares, and palaces. At the southern end of Via Fillungo, the Via Cavour runs off to the east, and is also of great interest.

This is a classic, old-school European high street with a variety of clothes, shoe and other shops interspersed with patisseries and entrances to the apartments above the retail stores.

I could walk this street 1000 times and always find something new. It has stores for all price ranges. You can buy anything from soap to shoes to handbags to designer clothes to wedding favours to jewelry to local food products. The list is endless. When I'm in Lucca, I always make it a point to walk the Via Fillungo.

There are times when it's barely possible to walk on Via Fillungo, Lucca's narrow main (and cobbled) street, there are so many people out for their late afternoon strolls. No cars at that hour, but plenty of humanity -- gawkers in windows of shop's displaying beautiful Italian designs in coats, shoes, jewelry and other high-end goods. Indeed, it would not stretch a point to say it's harder to move here than on Fifth Avenue at Christmas. One night we were on the way to the opera house and feared we would be late because of the pedestrian traffic jam.

My great grandfather is Francesco Lenci. His store is located on this street. I visited 10 years ago but have lost touch with the family. Do the Lenci Brothers still have their stores in Lucca. I cannot find them on the internet.
