The Tower of Pisa (180 feet in height) was begun in 1173 and, due to its faulty foundation on unstable soil, leans precariously more than 14 feet out of line, preventing visitors from climbing its 300-plus steps to the top.

Ever since I was in grade 5 (50 years ago) and drew a cover page of Europe with the leaning tower on it, I had to come a see for myself. It is what I had imagined except for all the people, I drew a few seagulls on my cover page. It is definitely crowded and there are a lot... More

The tower itself was absolutely beautiful. We climbed up (296 steps but with one pause we were okay) and the views were great! I'm afraid of the heights so especially the side that is leaning towards the ground feels bad but I managed to keep it cool. There is a short and informative presentation about the tower before the climb... More

Pisa itself is marvelous... amazing in every way.... Shame that the whole experience is marred by Nigerian Street Hawkers trying to force everything from fake Rolex watches to bracelets down your throat every few feet.... PLUS scamming tourists in the PUBLIC Car Parks... GO BUY A TICKET ! Its only €.60 per hour... NOT €1.50 ... They will hand you... More

We did not go into the tower but just seeing this iconic structure was great! I suggest early morning to avoid crowds. Also take time to visit the cathedral next door!

I'd seen so many photos and other images of the Leaning Tower, I thought I'd be underwhelmed. Instead, I found the sight really impressive, and stared at it (and took photos) for quite some time. The interior tour is rather expensive, but worth doing...the entry floor lean is super noticeable, the climb is not too strenuous, and the sightlines are... More

It was my first time in Pisa so I needed to see the Pisa tower and I have to admit that I was not disappointed.

What an atmosphere. Beautiful manicured grounds and stunning workmanship. I think its really quite wonderful what can be achieved, an absolute marvel. Lying underneath the stars amidst towering masterpieces... theres also a mcdonalds right outside the gates, handy if your pushed for time and don't have the local knowledge of where to eat.

It is definitely a must see, when in Pisa. There is a small charge to go inside and walk up the tower. It is only 7 stories, so not a difficult climb. I have a knee issue but still managed to do the climb, with a few stops along the way. The view from the top is spectacular. It is... More

This is the most beautiful tower ever. Even if you are seeing its pictures and reading its history, you will fell this tower in alive version on different way. It has special spirit…and when you are going up you will really fill this leaning part of the tower. This is lifetime experience.

Very impressive. Out of season you still need to get there early (i.e. before 10) though to avoid queues
