We called and booked the horseback tour in the day. I am not sure if you can just stop by and hope for a spot. The instructor was friendly and attentive to our younger children who were riding for their fist time. It was a scenic route through the grape vines and back area. A great experience and highly recommended. We also purchased some of their wine:)

We visited Il Vecchio Maneggio on May 25, 2016 as part of a bus tour to Tuscany. We immediately fell in love with the place – the vineyards, the farm, the winery, the gardens, the restaurant – it was all so very beautiful. We had lunch at the restaurant. We were a bit apprehensive since we are vegetarians. But the food – vegetarian and all – was awesome. There were multiple wines served with lunch – we even had a quick lesson on wine tasting. These were wines produced at their winery. We loved the wine so much that we ordered a couple of dozens of wine bottles to be shipped back to our home in New Jersey, USA. Again, we were apprehensive regarding the wine shipping, but the wines were professionally packed and shipped and we received them in the time-frame promised. We also asked them to ship a bottle of wine to a friend in Italy and that too was done with no problems. The staff was very friendly and accommodating while we were there and also when we communicated after getting back home. A special thanks to Mrs.Elisa who helped through all the wine orders and shipments and kept us informed regarding the shipments with prompt responses to our emails. We fell in love with the place and were sad to leave. We would have loved to have stayed in the place for a couple of days at least. Il Vecchio Maneggio also has rooms for guests to stay and we hope to come back and stay for a few days. For anyone wishing to get a true Tuscany experience, we strongly recommend Il Vecchio Maneggio, and while there, be sure to enjoy their wines, food and the hospitality of the friendly staff. My husband and I went on an hour-long horseback riding excursion at Il Vecchio Maneggio and greatly enjoyed it. Our guide was calm and friendly, and riding on horseback through the Tuscan countryside is an almost surreal experience. Beautiful!

We attended a wine pairing lunch as part of our Walkabout Tour. The place is family run and everything is organic from the grapes, olives, honey, Florentine Cows, etc. We feasted on antipasti, fresh olive oil and honey, pasta, and wine. Truly "La Dolce Vita". Honey, olive oil and other items are available for purchase. Just minutes from San Gimignano, telephone is 0577/950232 for details and arrangements.

The horses are so well kept, the scenery you ride through is fantastic Not sure if it was just our tour, but the ridding was meant to be 90 minutes, we were one hour, Our guide spent all her time texting on the phone, no conversation or information. The honey they produce is fantastic.
