However, came late for the guided tour in English. Perhaps a sign of cultural fatigue this packed day in Siena. But a pleasure shakes over one at the small, quiet inner courtyard where classical music flows out of the building. A highly regarded music school has its seat here.

Home of Accademia Chigiana. Tours of the palace are first rate. Wonderful palace to visit. Filled with art an musical treasures. If you are there in the late summer, don't miss one of the Chigiana's concerts...some of the world's best young musicians are here for the summer

This place was the best piece and quiet place within Siena. Dating from the 14th century, the Palazzo Chigi-Saracini now houses the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena. In the courtyard plays classical music, Einaudi, my favorite, when we were there. Didn't go inside, just enjoyed the moment. There is a small gift shop.

This was part of a museum package of tickets we bought and we weren't expecting much. That said, we found an audio guide online and it helped enormously. There is so much history to even some of the smallest pieces, and it was just fascinating to explore. It helped that it was not crowded - we went on a Sunday... More

House of the prestigious Chigi Accademy of Classical music, this is one of most famous Medieval palaces in Siena. In the courtyard there is a fantastic wellhead.

Dating from the 14th century, the Palazzo Chigi-Saracini now houses the Accademia Musicale Chigiana of Siena. The facade facing Via di Citta is curvilinear and upon entering the courtyard strains of classical music fill the air, on the afternoon of our visit it was Vivaldi. To the left is a small gift shop dedicated to all things musical. Tickets for... More

Interesting to see this palazzo and hear the history. Some of it was closed for renovations when I visited.
