Saw the conflicting reviews of this place but family all keen to go, including teenage kids, and all enjoyed the macabre exhibits and history.

I was amazed by the previous 2 negative reviews. This is a professional historical and honest presentation of torture instruments. It's impressive and disturbing as the exhibits remind us that the modern equivalents of these instruments are in use today. Any student of history would...More

Room after room of torture-to-death devices primarily use on woman. It was depressing and not worth the 10 euros. An 8-13 year old boy might like it.More

This is in no sense a museum, it is only trap for sadistic (and very ingenuous) tourists, as you can judge also from a very quick lookMore

A MUST SEE.... We have no intention of venturing into disquisitions on torture in these few lines, an intention that would be as presumptuosus as futile; instead we shall confine ourselves to a few subjective observations. It is a serious mistake to think of torture...More

Don't know how thes chain of "museums" continues to exist at fine tourist locations. Not worth the fairly hefty entry fee.More

"ON TORTURE, PAST AND PRESENT" Today the people are torturated by thousands and in such a sophisticated manner that is impossible to appreciate that it is torture, in fact. But torture, it is torture come will in no matter what guise. We thought that, nowadays,...More

We visited this museum with our son (9 year old). It was very interesting and he was very intrigued by all these methods to torture people. IT was great for him and more interesting than historic buildings. It's a little pricey though.

The incredibly imaginitive barbarism of the many ancient instruments of torture on display, some of which are still used by some countries today, will leave you disturbed but enlightened. Very interesting place to visit.

If you have just few hours in Siena don't waste your time here because you have so many great things to see and to taste, like the Duomo, Palazzo Comunale and all the historical centre.

An OK museum in two levels with detailed information about ways to inflict pain and death. However the fee is far too expensive for the size, max half an hour of entertainment. About 10 euro per person

Went with my kids 10-12 years and it was a scary visit. Mankind is a cruel animal. We enjoyed it much
