We cut through the park thinking that it might be a nice drive when going from one coast of Italy to the other. Little did we know it would turn into our favorite part of the trip! We stopped at Norcia and the tourist office there told us we must go to Casteluccio for lunch. Were they right! The area... More

Came down here as a day trip from the Gubbio area. Drove to Norcia, then gradually looped through the park back through Visso. A nice twisty road with almost no traffic. My husband and I drove through the Monti Sibillini national park as part of our week-long trip to Umbria in October 2011. We stayed in Torgiano, a small village just outside Perugia, and spent roughly 6 hours driving through southeastern Umbria. Here are our tips for visiting the park, including the cities of Norcia, Casteluccio, and Visso. The southern highway... More

The Sibillini national park protects the wildlife and medieval villages in this beautiful stretch of the Apennine Mountains of Le Marche and Umbria. There are stunning rivers, waterfalls, caves, gorges and lakes within easy reach of the villa plus local information centres where you can find out more about the tracks and trails, the abbeys and monasteries. This high range... More
