Worth the walk but taking the bus is nice...

After all the years of visiting we had never been up here and it was so very worth it. There are lots of things to see once you arrive.

We had been to Rome and Florence, not to mention Assisi, so we had visited some splendid piazzas. By comparison, Montefalco’s was nothing special. We did enjoy the hike up to the hilltop village. We had an outdoor lunch with the super local wine—and great views of the valley below. It’s always a pleasure to visit these quaint old villages.

This piazza is gorgeous! I just love taking pictures and looking at the marvelous fountain smack in the middle of the square. It is really the middle of Assisi, and the perfect destination to have coffee and look out into the town. You can basically see everything from Piazza Del Comune. I recommend it!

One of the main piazze in Assisi and definitely one worth spending time in! Especially since it's uphill, after your walk there, sit at one of the bars, grab a drink, and enjoy the view!

This is centre of town, and what a beautiful town, no parking but restaurants, bars, shops galore and stunning architecture of all structures, not just religious building of which there are many.

Everything happens here or close to this place. Probably for the past 800+ years. But not to mean anything far from this place is no good. The place to see and be seen, if you'd like to put it that way. The basilica of San Francesco is a good 10-15 minute walk; while the Chiesa of Santa Chiara/St Clair is... More

In a town packed with tourists, the piazza del comune stands out as being somewhat quieter than one would expect - perfect to enjoy a granita al limone or some other refreshing treat - quite a good way to enjoy a break while visiting Assisi

Stopped here to enjoy a sandwich, people watch and hang out by a 2000 year old Roman temple. Just a normal day in Italy. :) There is a lovely little fountain and a nice benches for a rest.

Assisi is one of the most attractive, clean, stunning hilltop towns we have explored in Italy. It is a half day visit or a fantastic overnight stop. There is a car park beneath the town with an escalator or lift to take you to the start of the town. The whole place is beautiful. The Basilica is amazing and was... More

There are dozens of hotels, restaurants, expresso bars and shops within 100 yards of the plaza. It is a great place to have a seat and watch the locals and tourists walk by.
