The square is a great place to sit and take a break but do not look for food here, there is nothing of quality. You are better to search for food in the new town or on the outskirts of the old town. Sit on the steps or limited benches and just bask in the Assisi sunlight.

This is the mais square of Assisi! Assisi is a place that a person must be at least once in a lifetime! It is really beautiful the medieval city, with such a wonderful atmosphere! Just walk around and enjoy! Have a coffee at Piazza del Comune, and breath this 12th century's air! The Comune, the fountain, the museum, the Minerva... More

When visiting Assisi the roads take you to the Piazza del Comune. The is the centre of Assisi. Where they hold events and other community activities. There are bars and restaurants that you can sit on a nice day and just people watch.

Superb piazza really busy with people and interesting. Many small cafes and shops nearby to the Roman columns. Well worth resting here awhile.

It was quite lovely. It had great medieval "feel" We discovered later that it's considered one of the best preserved piazzas in the country. The remnants of the original Roman forum ruins lie beneath this piazza. Lots of great shops nearby!

We had been to Rome and Florence, not to mention Assisi, so we had visited some splendid piazzas. By comparison, Montefalco’s was nothing special. We did enjoy the hike up to the hilltop village. We had an outdoor lunch with the super local wine—and great views of the valley below. It’s always a pleasure to visit these quaint old villages.

After all the years of visiting we had never been up here and it was so very worth it. There are lots of things to see once you arrive.

This piazza is gorgeous! I just love taking pictures and looking at the marvelous fountain smack in the middle of the square. It is really the middle of Assisi, and the perfect destination to have coffee and look out into the town. You can basically see everything from Piazza Del Comune. I recommend it!
