It was the last day of the pilgrimage and we discovered the gate in the wall and went through, rather like Alice entering the Wonderland. A new world opened up to us as we enjoyed the walk through the wooded valley to the little chapel...More

Splendid shaded walk through history and time leading up to St. Francis D'Assisi. Separate trails, flat and uphill moderate but all worth stopping for.

Unknown to me before I left America, a fellow tourist told me about this "park" which is found near the walls of the Basilica. As I entered, I had no idea how beautiful, and meaningful this place would become to me in my 5 days...More

the main walk leading to the Cathedral lasts 40 min one way, mainly in the shadow. The walk towards the "terzo paradiso" masterpiece lasts 20 min.
