For a start, the museum is placed inside an amazing building that would have been worth visiting regardless of its content. However, of you like medieval and prehistorical pieces, and don't like eternal journeys inside museums, I certainly recommend this one. It's fast, goes to the point and allows you to see a lot in very little time. I personally... More

Fascinating city off the beaten track with impressive center of power and cultural life. The imposing Palazzo houses relics and artworks from the city's past. The main floor and the terraces with expansive views are enchanting and allow the visitor to imagine what life would have been like centuries ago. This hill town has charming winding streets to explore with... More

Because of friends who live near Gubbio we were taken on a tour of the city. Gubbio is an undiscovered gem in the heart of Italy.

This is well worth the effort to reach and then to walk around the various rooms and levels, The main ground floor is magnificent but do take a deep breath and travel up the stairs to see the wonderful Halls on the 1st Floor and reach the loggia terrace for fabulous views of Gubbio below. There is much to see... More

It is a spectacular building, well worth a visit. However, it is not friendly for older individuals who have some mobility issues. No railing up the steps to the museum and a long stairwell to the art collection There is an elevator what takes you up from the city to plaza and also up to the church. We walked up... More

My wife and I got a whiff of Umbrian history by visiting this museum. The view from the top was icing on the cake. Wonderful way to start the Umbrian travel.

The Palazzo dei Consoli is a huge Gothic building just off the Piazza Grande. It dominates the town. Inside are an art gallery, archaeology museum and a civic museum. This is where the 7 famous Eugubine tablets are kept - seven bronze plaques from over 2,000 years ago, written in the ancient Umbrian language. Someone had the foresight to buy... More

An extremely well maintained medieval gem! By standing in the huge entrance hall you can feel how life must have been in an Italian Comune!
