When the Romans encountered the army led by Hannibal, it is said the battle was so fierce that the dead soldiers in the lake caused the lake to turn RED for THREE days!!

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
We are spending a week on Lake Trasinemo (as a change from Garda, Maggiorre and Como) in July 2016. We would like to know if it is possible to visit Assisi/Perrugia from there on public transport. We like to travel independently rather than rely on tour operators. So any short rail or bus journeys are not a problem. Are the services regular and frequent? How can I access any timetables? Are there other places worth a visit from there? I am not into driving in Italy so car hire is not an option. Thank you for any help you can give. I am not sure where to post this for information we need.
