This red sandstone cathedral is awesome (in the old and new sense) - the sculpted pulpit is a work of art, the medieval tombstones of local knights very evocative - the armour and even the swords are carved in precise details

The Church used to be a Catholic Church and is a now a Reformist Church. It’s magnificent in size and architecture, and the atmosphere is solemn. It offers a view of the entire city when you take the stairs to through the bell tower for...More

No admission charge as far as we could see. Photography is not allowed but I didn't see the sign until on the way out. A fairly average cathedral to be honest but worth a visit.

At first we thought the $30 per person was a bit steep for the tour, but after two hours and several complimentary glasses of wine, it turned out to be well worth it. Mary, the Tower Keeper, lead the guided tour of the church from...More

The church itself is good to see from outside. The interiors are average compared to some of the other churches in Europe. However, a walk up the stairs to the church tower offers amazing view of the city.

Beautiful church. Make sure you walk to the top for wonderful views of the city and mountains. The church itself is very beautiful...but they charge to go in! They also do not allow photos.

Very excellent tower climb. So different as half of the climb is open air because of the unique design of the tower. Beautiful view of the city from two viewing decks.

Sorry but I don't know the hours and we decided not to go to the top as we wanted to see more of the city. It's absolutely a must-do if you're touring Bern. I'd check with a concierge at a hotel in the city. They'll know... More
