We went up the tower, it costs a few francs, but is worth it if you are up for 400 stairs each way to the top. The view is brilliant and you can go into the bell chambers. If you have a lot of spare...More

The Bern Munster is not the most beautiful cathedral I’ve seen but it is worth visiting to see the stained glass windows and the Last Judgement sculpture above the main entrance. The Munsterplattform to the side of the Munster is a nice place to sit...More

The Cathedral is a fine example of a Gothic cathedral in Old Town Bern. I loved the front entrance with its depiction of the Last Judgment.

Very beautiful cathedral. We were lucky that while we visited a woman was playing the organ and it was very peaceful. Though I am not religious, I found the Jesus sculpture to be engaging.

Yes, if you have a fear of heights or medical condition, you may want to skip this climb up to the top of this cathedral, but otherwise if it's a clear day, spend the five francs to get an incredible view of Bern and the...More

The Cathedral at Munsterplatz is large, historic and has some lovely architecture and stained glass windows. When I was there restoration with scaffolding prevented me from having the full effect but I enjoyed what I saw. There is an impressive pipe organ too.

This is a sad church with its series of stainedglass windows showcasing death, as the Speuer bridge in Lucerne. However there are many interesting vinagrettes especially for those interested in the Guilds and social history. Good accoustics. Attend a concert if one is available

We went in May 2017. The original statues for the last judgement were in the Bern historical Museum. I was happy to see they still had a version on the church. We were able to walk in and walk around. My husband climbed the towers....More

Sorry but I don't know the hours and we decided not to go to the top as we wanted to see more of the city. It's absolutely a must-do if you're touring Bern. I'd check with a concierge at a hotel in the city. They'll know... More
