The seat of Swiss power is pretty royal-looking, situated at the UNESCO World Heritage Site designated downtown of the Swiss capital. The view of the city from the back of the building is also a sight to behold. Don't miss it!

Unfortunately I didn't have time to take a tour inside since I went late afternoon, and there was a climate protest in front of the capitol when I visited.

The whiole experience is amazing and worth doing when in Bern. The guide, Léa, was a delight to listen to. Her presentation was very informative and seasoned with lots of fun facts and jokes too.

The tour consists in viewing a few important rooms of the building, in every room a minimum 15 minutes history lesson will start, like if you will have to do an exam at the end. Take a few coffee before to enter. Nice that is free.

The outside of the building is classic Swiss imposing and the view from the terrace magnificent. Although tours of the building are on offer you have to book ahead (maximum three days) and currently the only tour in English is on a Saturday. You're more likely to get a tour in German and even they are pretty solidly booked.

One of these days we'll get back for the tour as the Swiss really know how to run a democracy.

It’s a wonderfull detailed historical building very big for a small country (population wise).

But I suppose Switzerland survived the horrors and damage caused by WW2 so historical areas have been untouched for decades/centuries.

The Bundeshaus in Bern is definitely worth a visit when in Bern. The architecture is worth seeing and the history is interesting. It is advised to be with a guided tour to really know about the history of Switzerland and understand some details in different rooms.

The facade is not that impressive. But children were playing at the fountain with water spouts and were clearly enjoying the cool water amid the summer heat. At the back of the building present a scenic and cliff view of the surrounding area and hills. A VERY GOOD PHOTO op for tourist. A must see in the city

The Federal Palace is a building in Bern housing the Swiss Federal Assembly and the Federal Council. It is the seat of the government of Switzerland and parliament of the country. The building is very nice.

We also could see the Swiss Police nattily dressed at the building entrance. In front of the Federal building you can see Bundesplatz Square & on the other side you can see Aare River.

Do visit
