Easy to get to by tram. One of the cheaper museums to visit...8chf per adult. Loads of kids there the day we visited, they all looked like they were having lots of fun. We found some of the exhibits a little strange by comparison to...More

In any of the rainy days you can find in Bern, this is a great choice to spend one or two hours. There are sections a bit "old fashioned", but others are great and very interesting: the bones gallery and the mineral and gems section...More

Nice collection of taxidermied animals arranged by geographical location. The rock/minerals exhibit was really cool and of course you can see Barry the dog. Not a must see if you're a tourist but we enjoyed it!

I love the geological exhibition downstairs. It's not a huge museum but all the parts are interesting. Careful if you are there with young kids: there is an exhibition about life that involves sex, pregnancy and birth (nothing graphic but might lead to awkward questions),...More

We were on a Pilgrimage of sorts to the origins of the St, Bernard, so the only thing we visited in the museum was the Barry exhibit. The coolest thing was a photo booth where you can take a picture with different backgrounds and Barry.

I should make clear that I am not a rock fan, and went downstairs to the rock (minerals) exhibition to humour the children. After an hour or so they were trying to drag me out. The rocks on display are part of a collection, and...More

Museum of Natural History of Bern, like others of its kind, has a lot of interesting expositions: extensive crystal collection, big and small stuffed animals, insects, and other nature related exhibits. Children would also enjoy it as there are several interactive spaces and a playground....More

As we walked from room to room I noticed that everything was displayed very neatly and well lit. As it had started to rain just before we entered it was also a nice escape. I would definitely go back.

This is a place to go on a rainy day with kids, but they shouldn't already have seen half of the world before..... lots of exotic animals and the famous Barry (dog who saved people lost in avalanches)

You can get Tram 6, 7 or 8 to Helvetiaplatz. It's a 5min walk from there. There is a café on the ground floor.
