When we have company from out-of-town, we walk from the Capital, through the Old Town, past the Einstein Haus and City Hall, cross the bridge, admire the bears on the other side of the river, and finally climb up to the Rose Garden. Here, you get a wonderful view of the city you left behind and have a chance to... More

Nice view from higher level, looking to Bern village. Night view is good as well. Enjoy a romantic meal at the restaurant there would be fantastic. Can walk down the trail to reach the Bear park then wonder along the bridge to go back to the old town Bern. A pleasurable walk to watch the beautiful lake and the medieval... More

From the Rosengarden you do have the very best view over the old city of Berne and the Aare. Plus there is a nice restaurant with decent prices. If yo uare lucky and can go during rose blossom season it is stunning!

Unfortunately we came in winter time so no rose in the garden. But the view from the hill is amazing landscape of Bern with it great bridge and church tower and watch tower as well. In winter the light is special with distance fog and golden rays from the sun and hot wind from south.

We found nothing special. It looks just a park for morning and evening walks. Very few rose plants and not any more attractive.

Unfortunately by the time we came to visit in late November few plants were flowering however it is still possible to get a good idea of what the gardens would be like in full flower. They are well laid out and easy to walk through and there are great views over the city. A word of warning, the easiest access... More

It's a nice walk (uphill halfway) across the bridge from old town. Fantastic photo ops on the way too. Lovely place-even in October, but do it for the walk.
