Thun is a lovely town and the lake Thunersee and its surrounding mountains are lovelier. A boat ride there is a must. The best place is where the Aare river flows into the lake. The old buildings add to the charm of the whole scene.

I did this on a wet day, you can get there either by bus or boat from Interlakenhoheweg, it's not far. The caves are quite interesting, and very extensive. Cafe facilities and things for children. However, I came by boat, and it's a very steep climb. The way is gentler by road, but it's still a climb. The bus or... More

I visited this place in summer, on a sunny morning it was a breathtaking sight. There was never a moment before this that I went to a place which had mountains, snow, water, forest, colourful flowers all in one frame.

Lovely Old Town Thun! This city has a lot to offer - from the historic covered bridge, the cheesemaker, to the Boat Ride on the Thunersee - views, views, views!!! Love this city and would return again and again! Don't forget to check out the Italian Restaurant by the river which runs through the middle of the town! It's AMAZING!

I took the train from Geneva (2 1/2 hours) to Interlaken West train station to board the "Castles and Lake" cruise on the Thunersee, offered by BLS Bernese Oberland. They have several ships and the boarding pier is right next to the train station, so its very convenient. The Castles and Lake cruise allows you to get off along the... More

A trip to Thun wouldn't be complete without a cruise to Spiez or Interlaken. With both you can take a train or bus back to reduce the overall cost if you wish. Many hotels provide a complimentary bus pass, so the journey back can be free.

Thunersee is a stunning Lake and cruising, with stops on the way, past chalets and castles against the background of the hghest snow covered alpine peaks, has to be experuienced. Likes every moment.
