We missed out...should have visited ages ago. We've been visiting Thun and the area for many years, and had always looked at "Ben and holly's" castle before the children and after but never visited. It was lovely. Great for younger kids with interactive displays , and older kids who want to learn a bit. Fab views from the turrets (says... More

Short walk from the old town. Stayed at Krone Hotel and walked to the Schloss in 5 minutes. Took the tour and had an average experience. Nice view from the top of the castle.

The exterior is the highlight but here are very nice displays in many of the rooms and a great Knight's Hall in the center. Make sure you tour all the way to the topmost floors.

We went on a day where there was a potential storm moving in and it was good for the kids. Interactive lessons on the history of the castle and the town. We walked to the top of the towers and got a great view of the city and surrounding areas of Thun. Being that it's mostly indoors, good thing to... More

After hiking around Kleine Scheidegg with my friends and their young daughter, we went to Thun for dinner. Afterwards we walked around the city and the castle is a very beautiful landmark the overlooks the city. It is very beautiful and was very well lit at night on the hill. I did not unfortunately have time to go inside it... More

Great looking castle set on the top of the hill overlooking Thun. Meandered through the streets and up the steps. Good views over the Town and across the lake to the mountains. Didnt pay to go inside as on a time limit.

The castle has some interesting artifacts and some signs in English about them. However there is not enough info on the history and folklore of the castle itself and the archaeology of the area, which interested me. The views from the top are beautiful. The entrance price was 'normal' for Switzerland. It's a good attraction to visit, however i would... More

The castle is an easy walk from the train station. If you go to the tourist office, they can give you a map of the city before you head out to the castle. The views are great from the castle. Inside the castle is a museum, it is not furnished with furniture from the time of the castle. The cost... More
