What is interesting, beside that this arsenal is in the old town in a very nice place charged with history, that one of the canons is very old (1680) and as you can see, they belongs to the artillerie and are been used a lot of time.

This attraction was right in the centre of the old city. It is easy to just walk in then out and take photos with the cannons and frescos while wandering the wonderful old streets and buildings. The Swiss have done a great job of preserving these aspects of history.

Very close to the cathedral of St Pierre, this presentation of 5 cannons has frescos asa backdrop that depict periods in the history of Geneva. An interesting find during a walk through the old city.

I visited this attraction. You find while you are walking in the old city of Geneva. It's a good place to see while visiting that amazing area.

This is an interesting little thing to do while roaming through the old city of Geneva. Interesting to read the various texts and to get an idea of what this place means for the history of Geneva. However, visiting this during the annual "Escalade" festival in December makes it extra worth your while.

Old Arsenal is located only few steps from the Maison Tavel and few minutes by walk from the Cathedrale de St-Pierre (I have passed here on the way to St. Pierre). It contain five grand old cannons and mosaic frescoes by Alexandre Cingria. Those mosaics depicting important periods in Geneva’s history. It is a free open air atraction.

Passed this on the way to the Cathedral and decided to have a peek. The pre are a few Cannons on display that evidently protected Geneva at some point as well two nice Mosaic paintings on the wall behind the cannons. Not a must stop, but worth a look if in the area.

The old arsenal has some cannons and frescos to view. It's near the esplanade that has the longest wooden bench in the world and worth a look if passing. There is nothing else here on the spot though.

L'ancien arsenal is a place close to Maison Tavel and if you have five minutes, you should stop and read some notions of Switzerland's history. Furthermore you can enjoy the artistic backgrounds and historic cannons that are in the small square.
