Good museum with plenty to see including lots of stuffed animals and I Teresa in artifacts. Not to far from the main drag with an excellent square a short distance away to relax and have a coffee.

This place is a taxidermist's delight, and just like the art museum, it is free. The museum alternates its animal scenes by overwhelming you with too much of one animal (my favorite is the four tigers all ready to pounce on the visitor) or the more artistically constructed scenes that "recreate" a natural Savannah scene. These tend to have an... More

As a free attraction I couldn't believe how much was in the museum. My daughter of 2 loved walking through and looking at all the animals and birds. For those looking to study the contents I recommend any day besides Wednesday or the weekend. There is a restaurant where you can get reasonable food and drinks. Note you are not... More

Before the days of television, museums would pride themselves on their taxidermy collections, as they allowed people to view animals up close that they would otherwise never have the chance to see. The Musée d'Histoire Naturelle seems to exist on the same principle - there are rooms and rooms of stuffed animals and birds; stuffed fish from the lake; stuffed... More

My wife and I love taxidermy so we will almost always pay a visit to the National History Museum of whichever city we are visiting. I have to say this one is outstanding, not to mention free!!! Not only do they have a huge collection of animals but the layout and displays are excellent. They have various scenes and you... More

It's a fab FREE place for children, open also on Sunday. So if it's raining (very common during the winter in Geneva) just head to the museum and you'll spend a great afternoon. Unfortunately still waiting for the Dinosaurs' floor to be renewed. There are also temporary expositions and special days like the one with a real owl! You can... More

Full of interactive activities for kids. The museum is well documented and very informative of local fawn and fauna. Great for rainy days!

We loved this museum and it provided a great activity for a rainy Geneva day. There is plenty to keep your children interested. Beautiful exhibits and well planned museum.

In a city where one's cash can run out fairly quickly, let's hear it for the Museum of Natural History, which is free. It's an impressive collection of stuffed animals et al, alongside a fine collection of crystal formations and the like. As other reviewers have said, it's slightly disappointing - given the international nature of this city - that... More

There are not so much to do with young children in Geneva on a rainy day and this FREE museum provides a great alternative. There is a large (by Geneva standard) exhibition of animals.
