    It was tranquil and soothing
Lake Lucerne was another beautiful lake that we saw in Switzerland. At Lucerne, the lake had mooring facilities for steamers and a broad pedestrian walkway to enjoy fair length of the beautiful water front that was close to the city. There were many species of wetland birds including Mute Swans, many types of Ducks, Gulls, Coots etc. The 19th century steamers were an added attraction with each steamer having its own character and elegance. Lake was a very convenient passage to travel to Beckenried, Brunnen, Fluelen, Vitznau and Weggis. Lake Lucerne’s beauty was enhanced by the bordering mountain ranges that were visible in its far side. To see its beautiful surroundings and feel the environment we did a boat tour which took us deeper to the interior. We were able to discover the hidden charm and tranquility. Awesome!

    Beautiful Lake Lucerne
We were lucky to visit when the weather was sunny and clear and we were able to walk along both sides of the lake around the town. We also took a ferry trip and enjoyed the lake and villages surrounded by the beautiful mountains. Beautiful

We stayed in Lucerne for a week on our honeymoon. Lucerne is beautiful and gives you the lake, mountains, beautiful buildings, and restaurants to chill out in. It is not a budget break, but use the Co op and Migros stores to buy picnic food some days. We visited the Lido near the transport museum. Use your free city pass to travel on the buses. At the Lido it is £8 for adults to get in. £8 for an umbrella and £8 for a sunbed. Well worth it for the day. There is a beach, a swimming pool and the lake to swim in. There are lockers and changing facilities. 2 francs for a locker. Overall, it's a lovely holiday.

    Cruise on Lake Lucerne 🚢
What a beautiful route by boat on Lake Lucerne! 🛳️ ⚓️ 🦢 Whether for a short distance or the whole almost 3 hours from Lucerne to Flüelen. The staff is very friendly and helpful and announcements are also additionally all in English.

A lake tour is a must
Luzern is the bridge in the heart of a romantic city’s lake mountains. We took the lake tour to tour all the stops for 70 francs, we took all the lakeside stops to tour the villages for 5 hours, we loved the incredibly beautiful scenery. Lake-to-Lake waterfalls from the mountains surrounding the lake never come back without a tour of the luzern lake

    Beautiful Lake Cruise
We chose to take a boat ride from Lake Luzern to Stansstad...about 1.5 hours. You can get tickets online, but we opted to run over to the ticket office after breakfast the day of. The office is right on the lake a few steps to the left of the train station and that big arch. These boat rides are very popular, with most of the folks using the ride as a means to get to the town of Alpnachstad (the start of the cog rail up to Pilatus peak). I would strongly opt for first class tickets, that gets you on the upper deck and it is a lot less crowded. We actually got 1st class tickets for all our boat rides in Luzern and Interlaken, it's just a much more relaxed ride. And using the 1/2 fare pass it's only a few francs more. The boat ride on Lake Luzern was one of the favorite things we did in our whole Swiss trip. It is simply a beautiful trip.

A fantastic lake with many excursions
The most beautiful lake in Switzerland is very varied and scenically incredibly beautiful. The city of Lucerne offers guests a variety of sightseeing opportunities, fantastic are mountains, cable cars and boat trips, especially with the five old paddlewheel steamers. We recommend above all: a ride on the Rigi Railway, a steamboat ride, the convertible cable car, the vertical Hammetschwand lift, the Swiss Way, a Pilate excursion.

Beautiful Lake, snow capped mountains and historic city all in one
Lake Lucerne is a wonderful place and if you get a good day like we had, its definitely a place to have a good look around. The wooden bridge is unique in the middle of the old town, where the cobbled streets, shops and eateries line everywhere you go. Lake lucerne is particularly a beautiful place where you have a mix of the lake, the green hills and snow capped mountains in the background. During the summer and until October you can swim in this lake which is one of the cleanest in the world. There are also nice places to have a drink and watch the boats go up and down, people watch or just enjoy the scenery. Take a boat tour on the lake which is normally about 1 hour and 90 minutes for the other boats, so you do have a choice. is is such a great trip and well worth doing, so enjoy. Its easy to get around on foot as its not a large city, but well worth seeing it from the water, as well as a tour of some kind.

    Vierwaldstättersee
Idyllic bays, fjord-like rocky slopes and snow-capped peaks in the background are all visible on a boat trip on Lake Lucerne. When you sail with the antique steam paddle boat it is completely enjoyable. I have been on the Gotthard Panorama Express a few times including one from Flüelen to Lucerne. With the steam paddle boat it took about 3.35 hours. You can also make smaller trips or get off in Vitznau on the way for the Rigibaan. With a Swiss Travel Pass, the boat trip is free. From Lucerne there are also small cruises of about an hour. In addition, walking along the lake is also beautiful with all those beautiful views.

    Lake Lucerne Endless Love
In short, beautiful Lucerne.. If we have described the beautiful Lower Luzern as one of the most incredible experiences that man can experience, we are sure to say that the beautiful city is full of sights and the most famous is Lower Luzern, one of Switzerland’s picturesque lakes. The beauty of the lake is evident in many breathtaking scenes, as the lake is surrounded by a chain of mountain heights that create majestic, unbeatable views. If you decide to visit the lagoon, we recommend reading these lines through to finish, to learn about the top features and baggage on offer. • How to start a hike without wandering around to see nature in your doorstep. • One great thing that might interest you is some stores where you can buy whatever you want. • Take advantage of the place’s exceptional opportunity to discover the lake more closely by sailing in its waters and enjoying all the magnificent views around, so you can take a group boat ride and rent a small boat. Restaurants: When you''re thirsty or hungry, you can pop into one of the restaurants and coffee shops located near the lake that includes all kinds of food. Water cycles are also available along the lake and at boat drop-off stops.

We did two boat trips on Lake Lucerne, both with the newest ship, Diamant. The first trip was from Hertenstein to Luzern 30 mins to go and 30 mins return, and we paid a stunning CHF 95 for two adults and two children. It was on a Sunday with beautiful weather and there was no place to sit on the boat. We found it disappointing and too expensive for such a short boat ride. The next day we did the 4 hour round trip around the whole lake, also starting from Hertenstein, where our hotel was located. We took first class tickets and paid CHF 214 for two adults and two children. Much more reasonable given the duration of the trip and the space available for first class passengers. We thoroughly enjoyed the round trip, despite the weather being less beautiful than the day before. Our advice: take the round trip; it is better value for money; as is a first class ticket.

People say Switzerland is beautiful and that comes true with a visit to this small town called Lucerne. On our first visit to Switzerland we were confused with whether to do Lucerne or Interlaken and whole Jungfrau experience but good we decided to do both. We settled on doing Mt Rigi and did not do Mt Pilatus as time was less but it was worth every penny. Lucerne is a beautiful town will scenic views and cruise on lake lucerne was the highlight of our trip . Wounded Lion and Old chapel bridge were beautiful . Small shops selling cuckoo clocks were town’s biggest attractions. To my surprise Lucerne had best cuckoo clock prices , infact better than Zurich .

Lake Lucerne in Switzerland is encircled by mountains making it quite similar to views that one sees in a Fjord landscape. There are plenty of boat cruises to pick your pick from and they are well worth the price, most last about 2 hours so make sure you have your camera handy. The lake is quite large with a total surface area of about 44 square miles so plenty to see as you cruise slowly along the smooth water. Of course the town of Lucerne is on the lake and definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

I was out and about in the region on what turned out to be a horrendously wet day. The original plan for open air activities was very much not going to happen so at lunchtime - when the rain really started in earnest - I jumped on the steamboat Uri. To pass the time to Luzern, I went into the first class cabin and had an excellent “fish and chips” lunch washed down with a very acceptable bottle of local beer. The price tag was a bit steep - but you are paying both Swiss prices and for the privilege of being on a vintage paddle steamer. Service was attentive but not obtrusive. I would throughly recommend for when the weather plays havoc with your planned activities!

The Lake Lucerne divides Lucerne in half. One half - with a Central Train Station and the "New" Town. The other half - with the Old Town. There are many boats (even in January) taking tourists for a sightseeing short cruises around the lake. One of many "postcard" towns in beautiful Switzerland with a beautiful and clean lake.

We holidayed on the shores of lake Lucerne Hergiswil
Hotel seepilates
Travel was on a shearing coach trip
Hotel was amazing and I’ve done a separate review
It was a wonderful holiday only mared by one of the crew or shearings false information .
Day to Engleberg was clearly documented that you would have opportunity to go on the revolving gondala at your own expense . We understood that and we’re happy to pay but the issue was for some unknown reason crew member did his best to discourage everyone from going up mt titlis . Even threatening us saying we would have to make it back to resort on our own . This resulted in the whole bus apart from 4 of us frighted to take the risk
So if you are thinking of going on this wonderful holiday double check with shearings regarding this .
Four of us went up and it was the highlight of the week and we made it back to bus in time

We just got back from celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and part of the journey took us to Lucerne where we stayed at the Hotel des Balances on Lake Lucerne. What an incredible lake with beauty all up and down the lake. The magnificent snow-capped Swiss Alps surrounds the lake and the beautiful villages make a picturesque portrait which can't be described and pictures don't do it justice. You have to experience it. Just an incredible part of the world!!!

Whenever we are in Lucerne we loved to walk on the quai, maybe enjoying a dessert and sitting on a bench while looking at the boats pass by.
The lake is extremely clean and it has multiple public boats allowing you to take tours at a bargain (for Switzerland mind you).
I've never actually bathed in it until now, but I hope I will be able to do it once, as the waters are crystal-clear.

This is a huge lake so take the 1hr yacht that brings you to the interesting parts without being too long and boring. Ideal for kids attention spans too.

Bring a bit to eat and drink and get a nice smooth boat around allowing you to see Lucerne and it’s architecture and surroundings from a different perspective.

Beautiful lake with great history which you can hear about if you download the required app which gives you the history as you sail. Beautiful to do on a sunny day of which there are plenty around this gorgeous area.

My husband and I loved Lucerne. It is breathtakingly beautiful and probably one of the most beautiful old cities we have ever seen. The surrounds are gorgeous, mountains covered in snow behind lovely old buildings, chapel bridge, swans and ducks everywhere, boat rides/cruises around the lake. We did a cruise - for an hour I believe and it was wonderful. We went in the afternoon so we’re sure to dress warm as it gets cold in December on the lake in the afternoon. The ride on lake was amazing with great views to take in and absolutely worth doing while in Lucerne no matter the season or time. The one hour cruise suited us in the afternoon allowing us to fill our days with other activities and not too long if you have kids/teens. Walking around the lake is a must as well. We walked all the way to the chocolate factory which was probably 20 min walk or so.
