Lake Lucerne was another beautiful lake that we saw in Switzerland. At Lucerne, the lake had mooring facilities for steamers and a broad pedestrian walkway to enjoy fair length of the beautiful water front that was close to the city. There were many species of wetland birds including Mute Swans, many types of Ducks, Gulls, Coots etc. The 19th century steamers were an added attraction with each steamer having its own character and elegance. Lake was a very convenient passage to travel to Beckenried, Brunnen, Fluelen, Vitznau and Weggis. Lake Lucerne’s beauty was enhanced by the bordering mountain ranges that were visible in its far side. To see its beautiful surroundings and feel the environment we did a boat tour which took us deeper to the interior. We were able to discover the hidden charm and tranquility. Awesome!

We were lucky to visit when the weather was sunny and clear and we were able to walk along both sides of the lake around the town. We also took a ferry trip and enjoyed the lake and villages surrounded by the beautiful mountains. Beautiful

We stayed in Lucerne for a week on our honeymoon. Lucerne is beautiful and gives you the lake, mountains, beautiful buildings, and restaurants to chill out in. It is not a budget break, but use the Co op and Migros stores to buy picnic food some days. We visited the Lido near the transport museum. Use your free city pass to travel on the buses. At the Lido it is £8 for adults to get in. £8 for an umbrella and £8 for a sunbed. Well worth it for the day. There is a beach, a swimming pool and the lake to swim in. There are lockers and changing facilities. 2 francs for a locker. Overall, it's a lovely holiday.

Luzern is the bridge in the heart of a romantic city’s lake mountains. We took the lake tour to tour all the stops for 70 francs, we took all the lakeside stops to tour the villages for 5 hours, we loved the incredibly beautiful scenery. We chose to take a boat ride from Lake Luzern to Stansstad...about 1.5 hours. You can get tickets online, but we opted to run over to the ticket office after breakfast the day of. The office is right on the lake a few steps to the left of the train station and that big arch. These boat rides are very popular, with most of the folks using the ride as a means to get to the town of Alpnachstad (the start of the cog rail up to Pilatus peak). I would strongly opt for first class tickets, that gets you on the upper deck and it is a lot less crowded. We actually got 1st class tickets for all our boat rides in Luzern and Interlaken, it's just a much more relaxed ride. And using the 1/2 fare pass it's only a few francs more. The boat ride on Lake Luzern was one of the favorite things we did in our whole Swiss trip. It is simply a beautiful trip.

The most beautiful lake in Switzerland is very varied and scenically incredibly beautiful. The city of Lucerne offers guests a variety of sightseeing opportunities, fantastic are mountains, cable cars and boat trips, especially with the five old paddlewheel steamers. We recommend above all: a ride on the Rigi Railway, a steamboat ride, the convertible cable car, the vertical Hammetschwand lift, the Swiss Way, a Pilate excursion.

Lake Lucerne is a wonderful place and if you get a good day like we had, its definitely a place to have a good look around. The wooden bridge is unique in the middle of the old town, where the cobbled streets, shops and eateries line everywhere you go. Lake lucerne is particularly a beautiful place where you have a mix of the lake, the green hills and snow capped mountains in the background. During the summer and until October you can swim in this lake which is one of the cleanest in the world. There are also nice places to have a drink and watch the boats go up and down, people watch or just enjoy the scenery. Take a boat tour on the lake which is normally about 1 hour and 90 minutes for the other boats, so you do have a choice. is is such a great trip and well worth doing, so enjoy. Its easy to get around on foot as its not a large city, but well worth seeing it from the water, as well as a tour of some kind.

Idyllic bays, fjord-like rocky slopes and snow-capped peaks in the background are all visible on a boat trip on Lake Lucerne. When you sail with the antique steam paddle boat it is completely enjoyable. I have been on the Gotthard Panorama Express a few times including one from Flüelen to Lucerne. With the steam paddle boat it took about 3.35 hours. You can also make smaller trips or get off in Vitznau on the way for the Rigibaan. With a Swiss Travel Pass, the boat trip is free. From Lucerne there are also small cruises of about an hour. In addition, walking along the lake is also beautiful with all those beautiful views.
