Visited Mt Rigi end of April. We opted to do Rigi instead of Mt Titlis as the weather in Titlis was too cold for us. Luckily we did so because Mt Rigi turned out to be a wonderful surprise. We took a boat to Vitznau, which gave us a nice view and experience of Lake Lucerne. From Vitznau we took... More

Breath-taking views of the snow capped mountains and green trees and fields and lake and grazing animals. There was still snow at the top during our visit on May 25th and we tromped through some of it. We had a nice lunch at the hotel/cafeteria at the top of the mountain. Highly recommended!

We've been up quite a lot of Swiss mountains on cable cars and rack railway. Rigi was the least impressive, perhaps due in part to the slightly dull weather on the day. Last year we enjoyed Pilatus much more, so I think I'd recommend anyone with the choice to go there first.

My kids (ages 19-24) enjoyed hiking all over the mountain, while my husband & I rode the cable car & cogwheels. Unfortunately the day we chose for this started out foggy & the clouds didn't lift much, so no beautiful views. But the temperature was great & the mountain was covered in fresh snow! If you have a Eurail Pass,... More

Mt. Rigi is one of those places visitors to Switzerland (like us) have to see. Too bad the locals are too busy working to take the time! We took the train from Vitznau. There are about 10 stops to the top (you can get out anytime and take the train to another stop during the day). Once at the top,... More

My review about the nature part: Stunning, of course. You get simply amazing views from the top (Rigi Kulm) My review about the company providing the mountain with transport: One star out of five. Sorry. We arrived at the town of Vitzenau, almost everyone who went out of the boat wanted to catch the train to Rigi. They filled two... More

We booked our ferry, train, and gondola ticket (all-inclusive) via the tourist office at the Lucerne train station. The cost was about $115 USD per person, which is not cheap. However, we were so amazed by the views from the ferry and the hike. Pictures cannot completely capture how beautiful this stretch of the Alps is. By taking the train... More

Access is by vernacular railway which is quite expensive £30 return The view is great if there is no cloud Oxygen is rare so do not exert yourself too much. You can walk down to the next stop and pas a cheese factory where you can have a meal. We had a prebooked cheese making session which lasts 2 hours.... More
