I was there as a petsitter for six days. Just wanted to spend a lot of my time with the pets. Lovely parks. Long walks into town and back. Very beautiful lake but not Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) by any means. I think there is a lot to explore closeby to Neuchatel, but I didn't do that. Nice shopkeepers in... More

Neuchatel is a great city for a weekend break. The lakeside is very popular, whether you want to relax alongside the water, have a drink or eat in one of the many cafes and restaurants, or enjoy the old city streets. It is peaceful and the view over the lake to the snow capped mountains in the distance is beautiful.... More

Had a real good time with my course mates at the lake side. They have spots you can grill your meat yourself. We played games as well since the place is very spacious and airy. Good place for family

This is the biggest lake in Switzerland that is 100% in Swiss territory. Much recommended for discovery.

Lake Neuchatel is the largest 'all Swiss' lake. It is 36 km long for about 8 km wide and from the Northern shore you have the most wonderful views over some of the most spectacular mountains in the Alps: the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau in Canton Bern, as well as Mont Blanc in France. The lake has many... More

I love Neuchatel, and the main reason is the lake. I lived in Neuchatel for four months and would often visit the lake - it's stormy and brooding during the wintery months, and then an ideal spot for sunbathing or picnicking during the summer. When the visibility is clear, you can see mountains on the other side!

It's a nice walk by the lake, although there is no long quay like in Lausanne or Geneva, but Neuchatel is quite small anyway.

I took a boat trip from the port of Neuchatel lasting 1 hour and 20 minutes. The crew were smartly dressed and the ride was smooth. We stopped long enough for the passengers to get off and on. There were even a few with bicycles.

Neuchatel is only half an hour's train journey from Bern. There is a steep descent from the Neuchatel Railway Station to the Lake, but if you don't feel like walking there is a Funicular that takes less than 3 Minutes. We were actually looking for a decent Restaurant to eat near the lakeside, but could not find one, so we... More
