It takes quite a while to get up there with the funicular train but it's really worth it, stunning views from up there all around.

The view is great, no denying, but it was expensive. For the price, you are crowded onto the funicular and only a bit of luck gets you a decent view on the way up. The top was pretty crowded too. The restaurant was large but...More

Niesen is called the pyramid of Europe. It was probably the stiffest ride we had. It was just unbelievable to trust that little bahn to take to the top at 2,362 meters! From there you will be greeted with a view like no other! The...More

After years of looking at this mountain and wanting to go to the summit, it was a disappointment. One of the funicular staff was very rude, ushering us in like cattle, and the space is very cramped for a half hour journey. We had to...More

What a fantastic place. The funicular ride up gets so steep its amazing. The view from the top is simply spectacular. This is a must do if the sky is clear.

We decided to eat at the restaurant at the top. The service was totally inefficient, we waited one hour to be served and the rösti dish we ordered was terrible: soft and fat... certainly from a pre-cooked package... accompanied by boiled vegetables... with no seasonings......More

I have now trekked the bottom half and top half of this mountain and cannot say enough about the experiences. Given the choice, I recommend trekking the top half versus the bottom if you are going to do just one. I did the top half...More

The ride up to the Niesen is amazing, and the view from up there is amazing. As it is usual for the Alps, it might get foggy very quickly, which, might affect the view. This is part of nature. Just make sure to take something...More
