After taking the Gondola up, we got to see the breath-taking view from the free admission Cliff Walk next to the restaurant. We then took a hike to the Bachalpsee, which afforded beautiful views on the way there, but the lake was covered in snow and could barely be seen except for one small patch of blue. If you do... We visited in April and the cable cars were very quiet. The attraction is a 5 min walk from the centre of Grindelwald, as a word of warning there is no parking at the cablecar station! Instead park at the Eiger+ parking and head up the road and you'll find it on the left hand side. The price was very... More

They still charge full price for the area lift tickets early season (1st week of January), but they only opened one section with a lift for freestylers. I used the lift system on my last day 12th Jan to at least have a look at this area I did not ski, and rode to the top. To my opinion, they... More

This is a must if visiting Grindelwald! I was not sure what to expect, but the views were spectacular. The cable car ride seemed to go on forever, which was a pleasant surprise. The views from the top were fantastic. The cliff walk was a unique experience and was very worth while. I would not hesitate in recommending this tourist... More

Just as the title says; it is good, but for a hiking adventure I would not recommend it. After calling tourist office confirming that all hiking trails (except 1) were opened, we decided to hike up and make a circular walk. However, hiking trails are poorly marked, you walk alongside the pistes and when you finally make it up you... More

Last August, after visiting Jungfraujoch in the morning (see our other review), we ended up in Grindelwald and decided to visit First. We had the Swiss Travel Card, which gave us 50% off the cable car ticket price. Even on a cloudy day, the view from the cable car was great (see photos). There are several activities at First, including... More

The cliff walk is worth every penny! The views up top were beautiful and amazing! It was windy up top so it made walking the cliff walk even more fun! There are parts of it that are not right next to the cliff and there is a part at the end that goes out into the open air, but not... More

This ski area was new since I last had visited Grindelwald (1982). The entire area was spectacular. The conditions were perfect and with no lines and many options and trails, a wonderful skiing experience. The lifts are also high enough above the valley that even when it was raining and cloudy below, the weather was clear and often sunny above.... More

Have gone to First 5 years running now and never ceases to amaze. Never a line for the lifts, the scenery and pistes are stunning and hope to go back next year.
