We visited the Faulhorn in Feb 2016 to do the Big Pub Fitz world's longest sled run down to Grindelwald. We took the cable car up to the First lift station and then rented a sled. From there we hiked the 3 hours up to the Faulhorn (it definitely took us at least as long as they predicted, and we... More

One of the magic places in Switzerland. Easy to reach also in Winter, when you take the cableway from Grindelwald to First and then walk the very nice path up from there. It will take 2-3h depending on your shape and how much you sink in the snow, although it is nicely prepared. On top there is a most beautiful... More

We reached First by gondola and found the hike to the top of Faulhorn easy enough (even at age 77). The views on the way up as well as from the top make every effort worthwhile. Enjoyed Roesti and sunnyside up eggs as a reward.

We ended up for the night here at it was nice to "bag a peak", even though no technical skills are required!! It was a fun hike and the mountain offers incredible views on a clear day. Very worthwhile and great exercise.

It's worth, takes full day. May the easiest way is from first, via bachalpsea. From bussalp the walk will be thought rocky garden, it won't be the easiest part, better go down this way. You will have Stunning views and spend lots of time from schynnige platte. Worth to do definitely. Good shoes is a must, poles recommended! Enjoy!

Nice hike, passing along cows, nice lakes and the view from the top is priceless, especially after 1-2 beers at the restaurant to replenish the water levels.

This was one of my best hike. Hiked from First all the way to Faulhorn. 8.5 KM and the views along the way was amazing. It surely did take our breath away. Note recommend to carry water and picnic lunch along with you. As you reach the top you can have a perfect lunch break along with the views.
