Stunning views over Interlaken's two lakes and the encircling snow capped mountains await you after an exhilarating climb to this summit. This walk is not for the faint hearted but is worth the effort. It can be reached by walking from Schynige Platte; First or Bussalp. The full hike from Schynige Platte to either First or Bussalp will take 6... More

Climbing the Faulhorn is the easiest peak to hike in the region. Must be in reasonable shape if approaching from First, but the trail is well maintained. Tremendous 360 views. Get the chocolate cake ( at the restaurant on top ) as a reward for your efforts.

A good walk from the First cable car, but well worth it. There is a hotel at the top with a little restaurant, and from the garden at the back, amazing views over Brienzersee

You need to be fairly fit to get here (either from the First cable car or from Schynigge Platte), but it is certainly worth the effort. I would only do it on a clear day, as the views are what makes it so impressive, and if you can't see anything for clouds, then I don't see the point of being... More

We hiked up to Faulhorn after taking the cable car to First. The First-Bachalpsee segment is a fairly easy hike, but you have to climb from there to get to Faulhorn, where we found out that we were not as adjusted to the altitude as we thought. Nevertheless, our reward was an excellent lunch with spectacular views once we arrived.... More

I took a ridge walk from Schynige Platte along to Fulhorn. The views along the way were simply breathtaking. On arrival at Fulhorn, you are treated to two panoramic views of both valleys and mountain ranges either side of you. I continued to walk on to First which took me past a beautiful lake. The whole experience will only take... More

Historic, simple and wholesome accommodation and restaurant near mountain summit. We stayed for acclimatisation but others walk or sleep as holiday highlight. A little strenuous towards end for some from First but scenery & paths good.. Mainly bunkhouse but some bedroom. Book early as popular or just walk up for lunch or refreshments. A special place to stay as the... More

This is describing Faulhorn as a hike and not reviewing the hotel/restaurant (which was closed when we were there anyways). Although the view of the high alps to the south is partially blocked by Reeti's peak and shoulders, the ability to look down to the lakes surrounding Interlaken and up to the Jungfrau and back down to the outskirts of... We had a long challenging hike up from Grindelwald, but the last hour up and down from Faulhorn was incredible.
