If you stay in Grindelwald you are "confronted" with "the triple" Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, 3 fantastic mountains, part of the main rim of the Alps. The setting is just breathtaking - in summer, but even more in wintertime. From Grindelwald and the Kleine Scheidegg you have a perfect view on the famous north face of the Eiger. (Btw., nice skiresort... More

This might be the most beautiful peak in the Bernese Oberland region. The view from the Jungfraujoch observatory is fantastic. And the deadly north face can be seen from Grindelwald. To think of the number of people who tried to climb it and never came back is scary and to think of those who conquered this dangerous peak is even... More

I always look at the North Face in awe. The climb and risk of death. They tell me there is a higher risk of being killed climbing the North Face than getting killed climbing Everest. As a percentage of those who go up and those who don't come down or if they do it's in freefall or in a freezer... More

If you go to Jungfraujoch, leave from Grindelwald to see Eiger's deadly north face. It is worth it and impressive!

There are great views from the top of the observatory - down towards the glacier and on the other side towards Interlaken. Take the earliest train up possible. You will be slightly ahead of the crowds if you go directly to the observation area and then come back down to the restaurant etc in the main area afterwards.

Great place to visit. The entire region is spectacular. The views are incredible and in the winter the snow is garenteed. I would highly recommend this place. Even getting to the ski slopes is an adventure on the mountain trains.

Well I was not expecting this. The views were amazing. The path was very easy to walk but rather steep. Totally enjoyed the day out. Wish I had not forgot my camera. Will need to do it again.

The Interlaken area is absolutely gorgeous! We had a bit of a debate on what to do, and decided to buy the four day pass for 245 Swiss Francs + 30 Francs for each dog. This gives us unlimited travel on the areas buses, trains, the tour boats for both lakes, but doesn't include the final section up to Jungfraujoch... More
