After traveling multiple cities among the throngs of multi-national tourists it was a pleasure to be a city that is mostly for the locals. It is clean, picturesque, old buildings circa 15-17th centuries which is kept that way because the locals want it that way....More

Wandering the streets and laneways of the old town is a great way to spend a morning and afternoon. Many cafes dotted around for lunch and some great sightseeing to be had.

My hubby and I took the train to Chur for the day. Com paired to other Seiss cities we weren’t impressed. Cities like Bern and Luzern are much more quaint and beautiful. The most beautiful city inSeitzerland is probably Stein Am Rhine... it’s stunning. Another...More

Beautiful small town, lots of atmosphere. We enjoyed just strolling about, did some window shopping and bought a lovely Christmas ornament for a souvenir. Spent most of our time in St. Martinsplatz and thankfully we had gorgeous weather!

Fascinating place. Lots of old buildings, shops, restaurants. Farmers' market and flea market on Sunday. Worth a visit.

This was part of a walking tour of southern Switzerland. Chur's Old Town is interesting, but not outstanding. The cathedral is well worth visiting.

Wished we'd had more time to explore. It was definitely worth it, but sadly we only overnighted here. Would love to visit again.

We loved walking around and exploring Chur. In my opinion one night is more than enough to explore. We stayed here for the convenience of catching a train in the AM.

It was a nice area with nice buildings. You can walk around the old town for 1 to 2 hours and you can go shopping or taste food.

I am not familiar with the ABC Hotel. However, last year we stayed at Hotel Post. It's convenient to the railway station, and to the old town, and to all the various restaurants etc. The staff were incredibly helpful... More
We arrive in Tirano about mid afternoon by train from Venice on 30 April, 2015. Overnight in Tirano then Bernina Express to Chur on 1st May. Next day 2nd May we take train to Zurich for overnight before flight to Paris in the afternoon about 5PM on 3rd May. My questions: Stay in Tirano and get the 3PM "Bernina Express" train arriving Chur 19:03 (what do we do in Tirano for the morning/early afternoon) if we have been there the previous afternoon.,? OR Take an earlier train from Tirano: The Rhb Website shows the earlier train from Tirano to Chur as R, RE (WITH TWO CHANGES). So will it would appear not to be The Bernina Express. Part of our BIG TRIP is to be the Bernina Express Trip. As we will each have a suitcase and handluggage, I am not keen on changing trains, howerver, would like to arrive in Chur to have time to look around the Town before we take the train in Zurich next day (we are flexible with time but have hotel booking in Zurich on 2 May. So more to see in Chur or Tirano?? Realise all opinions are different. We are active oldies and love walking around and looking at old towns, buildings, have a coffee, wine etc. Thank you for any help
