The tranquil chair lift ride up from Cardata is breathtaking. Enjoy beer and pizza at the top with an unforgettable view while you see parasailers take off.

This vantage point is reached by a combination of funicular, cable car, and chair lift from the Madonna del Sasso's funicular's base station just across the road from the railway station. The views south include all of Lago Maggiore, to the west the Centovalli, and to the north and east the Alps. The is a viewing platform halfway up at... More

Big great really panorama.. The Cardada - Cimetta mountain range offers a truly unique view overbooking the entire region of Locarno and Switzerland's two extremes: the lowest point, LAKE Maggiore, and the highest one, the Dufours point located on the Monte Rosa mountain range ...Cardada ( 1340m)

This is an absolutely amazing place! You take the funicular from the city centre, then the cable car and then a chair lift up to the top of the mountain. The views from the top are breathtaking! There is a childrens park at the top (both when you get off the cable car and when you get off the chairlift)... More

Worth a visit from Locarno, using the funicular railway to Orselina, the cable car to Cardada and then chair-lift to Cimetta. There are plenty of walking and fitness trails, great views, things for children, paragliding, etc. Also different restaurants. At the top of the funicular in Orselina, there is a lovely church, Madonna del Sasso, which is worth visiting. The... More

We visited Cimetta from our accomodation at Cannero Riviera. We got the all day ferry pass, caught the ferry to Cannobio, then changed to the Locarno ferry. When disembarking at Locarno Cimetta is well sign posted. To get there you take the Funicular Rail to Orselina 395m , then buy a ticket to go to Cardada 1340m via the cable... More
