Having climbing peaks, this mountain is my favorite since I first saw it on our black and white tv as a small child. Pray for clear skies the day you visit Zermatt, so you can see it in all it's majesty.

Ascending to the Matterhorn itself was an unbelievable adventure...and then one arrived at the top! The glacier and observation areas were incredible and awe-inspiring...as was the hot chocolate in the shop! This is a not-to-be-missed experience.

I visited here with my parents several years ago. We are not skiers, but there is plenty to do otherwise. The gondola ride up the Little Matterhorn from Zermatt is worth it.
