It has an intriguing history in itself, just to let you in a bit, it also involve Italy. Leaving you to find out and also leaving you with some wonderful shots of this... More

The characteristic silhouette of Matterhorn is fantastic, from many angles when skiing in the area. Especially from the Swiss side. We recommend slope 52 where you ski quite close to the mountain on its Northwest side.

Have skied throughout the Alps, and this view and Zermatt simply must be experienced by all mountain lovers ... a skier's definite bucket-list item.

The most breathtaking hike I have done. There are a lot of tourist at the top of Gornegratt but as you walk back down to Zermatt (a good 3hrs) you are alone most of the time. The a constant view of the Matterhorn which is stunning.

From every direction it looks like a mountain should. Very triangular! Congrats to the forces of geology in creating something so geometrically pleasing. I'd have given it five stars but it is quite cold and has killed over 400 climbers.

Outstanding views all over the valley! This is not an attraction you "go" to unless you're climbing.

Here the children learned how to ski. They can't stop talking about Zermatt and want to go back! We absolutely loved every moment.

This year with not so much snow before Christmas, this was an obvious choice and with the 3 days of ski we had 3 full days of sunshine and sufficient snow even on some of the lower slopes.

Wonderful awe inspiring views. On the ground in the morning all we saw was clouds, but there was a monitor showing the sun and mountains above the clouds. We went and it was jaw dropping as we came through the layer of clouds to view the matterhorn! Cold in September, bring gloves and hat.
