You won't find here the same pieces as in the Louvre, National Gallery or Metropolitan Museum. However, it is worth a climb from the center of town, it has the feel of a private home ( which it used to be), and the quality of...More

Visit this place if you have the Swiss Pass and if it's along your way. I did this while planning to hike towards the Sauvabelin Tower and its entrance fee is covered by the Swiss Pass (CHF18). This is essentially an art museum and depending...More

This former private mansion in Lausanne has been turned in a charming museum. They have good shows of first rate artists -maybe not their most famous creations- but always interesting. The visit takes about an hour. A nice restaurant is on the grounds and, during...More

Walking up once more to this high perched and beloved spot, I just wanted to add that you may ignore whatever exhibition is now on. Sheer bliss, overlooking the lake, with splendid flower-beds nursed by protective forest. Rare Virginian catalpa. Within easy reach, public transport...More

Thanks to a pamphlet in the hotel, we took the trouble to bus it up the hill to this interesting museum. There was something there for every member of our party. The grounds and the beautiful old building, the vaults full of valuable Verglottis Chinese...More

This museum, although small, has some wonderful exhibitions. They also supply headphones so that you can learn even more about the different world of art. Well worth visiting.
