Well it’s not the train per se but where the train takes us holds the key to this one. The tour took us to a Swiss village , where one could visit The Cheese Factory - this is where one can actually see how cheese...More

The train journey is fun and easy to book at the ticket office in Montreux. The old carriages are nice and the scenery is very good. The visits to Gruyere and the chocolate factory were interesting. The problem is that there was too much 'killing...More

You need to make a reservation online for this tour, if you have a Swiss Travel Pass, it's a little cheaper, we paid $69 pp. We took train to the Montreux station for the 9:02 departure(check the schedule for updates for the track you suppose...More

Starts in Montreux with a comfy ride in a vintage train, with friendly tour guides serving chocolate in all its forms (hot chocolate, chocolate croissants, and just plain chocolate). The ride itself was scenic, through villages and hill farms, with occasional great views of Lake...More

The trip turned out to be more exciting for me to think about than actually going! We had already been travelling by train through Germany, Austria and Switzerland for a few days so the train journey with the undoubtedly beautiful sights wasn't that much of...More

Hello! My family and me will be in Montreux on 8th & 9th September 2018. We have a 2nd Class Swiss Pass. I have few questions to ask with regards to Swiss Chocolate Train - 1) Is the train running on the dates I have mentioned? The golden pass website says for September, the operational days are only Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Unfortunately 8th and 9th are Saturday and Sunday. Do we have an alternative to experience it? Lucerne is another place we would be staying at.... should we do Lucerne to Broc, if it matches our dates? 2) What are the inclusions and exclusions in the fare? Do we pay separately for the busses one needs to take? 3) In the cheese and chocolate factories, do we get to taste any samples from the production? 4) Are there cheap and inexpensive restaurants in Gruyere or other places the train stops? Thank you in advance for your response. Happy Travelling!
