Overview

This 12th-century cathedral has both historical and architectural significance: Ulrich Zwingli led an important sect of the Reformation from here in the early 1500s, and the cathedral's twin towers serve as perhaps the most recognizable landmarks in modern Zürich.

The entrance fee is free unless you want to go up to the tower. You will find here collection of stained glass windows and a crypt. If you have a limited time in Zürich visit the Fraumüster instead. I could skip this church.

It's free so we were happy to check it out. Grossmunster dominates Zurich's skyline so we enjoyed seeing its inside. Due to Zwingli and the Protestant Reformation, it doesn't have all of the details inside of a Catholic Church, but it's stained glass windows are...More

This church is absolutely worth checking out even if you aren’t looking for Jesus. The stained glass work by Chagall is incredible!

This historic, Romanesque church (building began in the 12th century), sits on the River Limmat, near Lake Zurich; a short walk if you are staying at a hotel on the River Limmat. A variety of colored glass windows grace the church; some are typical stained...More

I was there quite late and the church was closed. But just observing from the outside, it's a very beautiful architecture with very nice Zurich views surrounding it. Worth to go visit.

Huge, impressive and extremely modestly decorated - like so many Swiss churches. However, the glass windows are very special.

If your around in Zurich, it's impossible to not see Grossmunster. This Protestant church is supposably very symbolic to the Suisse people and it was very cool seeing the tall rotunda roofs.

The two churches on the opposite side of the river are magnificent memorable works of the city of Zurich, and if you walk a few steps, you will reach the magnificent lake.
