This 12th-century cathedral has both historical and architectural significance: Ulrich Zwingli led an important sect of the Reformation from here in the early 1500s, and the cathedral's twin towers serve as perhaps the most recognizable landmarks in modern Zürich.

Be sure to familiarize yourself with Felix and Regula before leaving. From Charlemagne commissioning a church on this site to the Swiss Reformation beginning here, this place has some historical or legendary significance.

Climb to the top of the bell tower—it is a worthy view. The space at the top is a bit cramped but you will have a 360-degree view and it is quite spectacular. The climb up is a bit tiring and daunting but worth it....More

The bronze doors and stained glass by Giacometti are the only reason to view this rather austere church. And, if the weather is good, you can climb up one of the towers for a view of the city.

If you are in Zurich you‘re bound to walk around in the old town („Niederdorf“), where you‘ll encounter several objects and views from older days. Be sure to visit Grossmünster („big minster“) located close to Bellevue on your trip through Zurich. Just get inside, buy...More

I was expecting so much history but this church is a basic place of worship with no frills, little curation of artefacts but it does offer a 4CHF walk up 187 steps of the tower and fabulous views across the city.

We had clear blue skies the day we decided to visit the Grossmunster. The interior is nothing spectacular but it's worth to get a ticket up to the tower. There are 189 steps to the top up a very narrow winding stone staircase. But you...More

This old church is very nice to visit and sit inside. Open to the public it's not a fancy decorated building yet it holds history inside. Early visits are better as later there seems to be more tours coming through. Once inside you will be...More

This is quite the large church. Last time we went it was evening and we hurried for a quick visit. This time we took our time during the day and also visited the Krypt. The stained glass windows are fascinating, especially the one where it...More

This place gets the nickname salt and pepper because the two towers look like salt and pepper shakers. Interesting history to this church
