Lake Zurich is a nice day out for for the family. The ferry boats run the whole length of the lake and offer drinks and light meals, which while slightly expensive, is pretty good. The tripp affords beautiful views of the Alps to the south...More

The lake itself is streching through the city. You have some more quiet parts on the side which are nice for long walks. At the north end is a pier which has some shops and is a bit more busy.

Take the boat ride for a relaxed couple of hours. See Zurich from a different angle. The ferry takes you along the coast where you can see lovely old villas, parks, club's and restaurants. Get a view of the Alps at a distance too. Snacks and beer...More

I highly recommend a boat trip while visiting Zürich. The departure point is Burkliplatz. If you have time, try long round trip which goes till the end of the lake to Rapperswil.

Lake Zurich is just gorgeous! The views, the clear clean water, the ambiance of every place near it, is to be taken in and appreciated! We truly enjoyed walking around it, and stopping just to be awed by its beauty!

We were in Zurich past december for family holiday. Lake Zurich has all the beautiful natural elements in it. We were awed by its cooling weather and stress free environment. We took a stroll along the pathway to capture the landscape photos.

You can go by local publc transport. There are zones in which the price for the ticket is fixed no matter how many stops you make within a given timeframe. You should buy a ticket from any machine at the tram / bus / train... More

I do agree with the answer of the other contributor, actually on the lake there are rather villages than towns, and if you have limited time then better to have a look from the boat and spend more time to visit the old town... More
