The canal is so unbelievably clean and the water is so clear, I have no idea how it is maintained! The walk along the canal is beautiful and shaded, and there are lots of ducks enjoying the water too. Lovely to sit and relax at...More

Summer evening stroll or winter weekend mini escape from the shops to go for a walk and chat when you don't have time to get out of the city. The bobbing parked runabouts and manicured balconies make you feel right at home.

Depending on when you go this can be completely free of people. Lunch time is not good as many offices around spill out their employees and many people come here to eat and sun themselves. It is quant and I like to sit on a...More

Zurich is so richly endowed with both natural and artificial waterways. This branch of the Sihl discreetly divides Enge from mid-town. Lately one nice cafe restaurant has been opened on a corner of Blecherweg. The location is real nice and it attracts people to the...More

I love walking through the canal. The waters are so clean, and it is very quiet and peaceful. During spring time you can see many fish feeding in its water, a very relaxing activity

This branch of Sihl runs out in modestly from the Lake of Zurich. It is a relatively narrow little river but adds a sense of diversity and richness to the town. It is a a well-drained branch and nicely kept-up.

I stayed at Baur au Lac and I realised that a lovely canal is just outside the hotel. I took the opportunity to stroll along this canal in the afternoon. Boats berthed by the bank, some ducks and trees made up the scenery along the...More

This is a really nice walkway. You can take it at Burkliplatz and under the road and it is generally very quiet. It would seem that not many people either know it or take it. It ends near the new Swiss Stock Exchange. There are...More

Usually when people are going from Main Railway Station/City Centre towards Lake Zürich, they are going along River Limmat. This lovely little Canal is almost hidden, but offers you a nice walk between apartment buildings, hotels etc. Grab a coffee and relax for awhile watching...More
