About
Commanding a prestigious position, right in the centre of Leeuwarden, this house was built by one of the most influential and impressive men of his time. It’s not all glitz and glamour, take a look at the servants’ quarters, and see for yourself. Find out why the house stood empty for long periods of time. Ring the doorbell, get to know the Van Eysinga family, feel the vibes and soak up the atmosphere. You can even sit down at one of the games tables.

Very nice place! They gave us a very warm welcome. One of the members of the staff was able to give us some extended explanations in English about the house and one room in particular. The audioguides are also very practical and well-made. We even had the chance to enjoy a cup of coffee in one of the most beautiful rooms of the house! The visit is very interactive as we are authorized to touch and open some of the furniture. Would highly recommend

An interesting house to visit with plenty to see upstairs and downstairs and an excellent English audio guide telling you about each room. We were even given a cup of tea and a piece of cake in the salon at the end! We’d highly recommend it for English-speaking visitors as well as Dutch.

We felt like guests in this maison because we got such a warm welcome! It is fun for the kids to be allowed to open all doors and look at everything. This is really worth visiting with kids.

A museum where you are taken into space beyond Earth. You can learn all kinds of things about the universe with stars and planets. There is clear information, through films, stories and, above all, a lot of watching and doing.
We went home with the idea that what happened so many years ago was very special.

Small museum but very nice and interesting. The audio tour provides a lot of information. Friendly employees who tell fun facts about the house and life in the past.

A beautiful house where we were allowed to poke around on our own and even look in the beautiful antique cupboards! Or sit on the beautiful old chairs.
The audio tour was interesting and clear.
A very hospitable and enthusiastic welcome by the volunteers who had answers to all questions.
This house is one of the many monuments that fall under the St. Hendrick de Keyser. Highly recommended!
