A dark maze

I really recommend going here if you like a bit of adventure but also if you like history. The place provides both.

We visited in January and we're so pleased we went. The tour was brilliant (thank you Jo!), the tunnels are amazing and we were ever on the look out for bats. Really interesting and I would highly recommend, especially if you're interested in local/general history. We did the duel tour of the fort and caves. Worth every penny.

We had booked a combined tour of the Fort St. Pieter and the North Caves for Christmas day, as this was the only available activity for tourists that day. To be honest, I was not excited about this, as I am not generally a fun of underground dark places. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised! Both tour guides for the fort... More

We did the combined fort and caves tour on a chilly winter's day. Dorry (our guide for the Fort tour) was very informative and answered lots of questions. His English was very good and included the kids by giving them special jobs holding the lamps. Great history and views of the city. The caves tour was nice on a chilly... More

Such a wonderful experience to feel like you're stepping into a part of history. So much to learn and so much to experience. Very mind opening and such a unique experience. A must do activity in Maastricht!

Our Guide George was amazing. He told us interesting stories and history about this man mad cave. The best part of the tour was experiencing complete darkness. Worth visiting if you are in the area

Incredible underground cave network with beautiful historical drawings and findings covering millions of years of history from the cretacious period to modern times. Very professional guide made visit a very interesting experience. A must see in beautiful Maastricht and Europe.

We went on the the tour by scooter (step), which is great because you get to see a lot more of the caves than you do by walking. The tour was interesting and our guide Paul was very knowledgeable and funny, yet it lacked something for me. Partly because the caves are man-made (although very impressive), partly because the drawings... More

My wife and I visited the caves in early November. Our guide was knowledgeable, experienced, funny, and professional. We only were able to explore a small portion of the caves, but they are amazing. You can still see tooling marks in the stone... and lots of old (and some not so old) writings on the walls. Absolutely worth checking out!
