Authentic mill. Worthwhile a visit. Try out the bakery next to it, one of the most famous bakeries of Maastricht.

This is a wonderful and unique place to visit in Maatsricht, with a working water mill. The bakery sells wonderful spelt bread and the typical cake from this part of the Netherlands, the 'vlaai'.

Pretty well hidden, but one can see it without trespassing, just taking some small side streets. The mill was erected by one of the bishops for grounding floor, and the watermill is still in working condition, and still used for its original purpose. When I...More

When I moved here in September I had problems finding bread meeting my standards as a bread-lobing, cliché-German. Only Bisschopsmolen meets my strict standards :D 10/10 recommend.

There can't be too many genuine water-powered flour mills left so near the middle of an urban centre. An amazing relic to see in operation and particularly given that the flour produced is used in the attached bakery. The cafe was full of people when...More

This old flour mill is worth a visit. Open also on Sunday. Special is the integrated bakery here. Buy a vlaai, the local Limburg specialty! Of course made with their flour, the taste of a fresh vlaai means for all Limburgers => HOME!!
