Amazing place to see absolutely. A coffee shop where you can buy various items (books, magazines, notebooks, pencils, etc.) and have Breakfast or a drink. This building is an ancient Dominican church with magnificent architecture right in the city center.
We were pleasantly surprised.

What a lovely shop, I could wander in it for hours. But I probably buy way too much.... 😂 All genres are amply represented, and although it was crowded it is ample enough to see everything. I will definitely go back.

On our sightseeing tour of Maastricht we arrived at the very beautiful and historic building of the Boekhandel Dominicans. The bookstore is located in a stone vault of a former medieval church. As a must have seen in the city we clearly recommend the building!

Beautiful bookstore located inside a medieval church of the Dominicans. The church was excluded in 1796 and had many uses until it became this impressive bookstore. Inside there is a small cafeteria that allows you to enjoy a coffee while you choose which book to buy. I really liked it.

Not only a beautiful assortment but also a beautiful building. Very nice design in the church, details of the church well preserved and yet a very clear bookstore. Also for non reader worth visiting.

Dating from the high Middle Ages, this beautiful former church now serves as a large and very well equipped bookstore. It also houses a cafe. Well worth a visit even if you're not a book lover.

Absolutely charming! The store is a sight to see and offers three stories of books and wonderment. There’s a modest English section on the second floor as well as a few old/antique books on the top floor. The books are priced quite high comparative to other shops but it’s worth it for the visit and a nice espresso in the accompanying cafe.

We visited the place on a random saturday after the holidays, but it was really really crowded. Anyway, big book selection, live music, nice church. The only negative thing is the state of the restrooms. Needs an upgrade and better maintenance.

Great selection of all kinds of books, in different languages, very extensive, some quite select, betrays it's a university town. Wonderful space in some kind of old church or monastery or whatever it is, repurposed for this. With cafe space with people either talking to each other in a pleasant way or reading something interesting, Very good for the atmosphere, even if you don't buy anything. But the selection of books is so extensive and eclectic chances are you will some cross something you will want to possess. At peak times it can get crowded. At least worth popping into for a moment for the visual. Enjoy.

Amazing bookstore. I read about this place almost 10 years ago and determined I would visit. On a day trip to Maastricht from Brussels today, I finally made it, and it is worth the effort and time to see it in its glory.

NO. Maastricht center is walking area. There are many underground and other parking lots. Parking 'vrijthof' is closest but very expensive. I usually take the open air Sphinx. A bit further but much cheaper and your walk through the beautiful streets will not disappoint you
