Initially we even couldn't catch what's about the museum, a lot of things, books, pictures, clothes, paintings, etc. To be honest, we couldn't undestand the idea, to progressive for us. Maybe our vision about museums is too... More

It is a nice building, with a classic 20th century side and a modern buliding which is 10 years old. If you like modern art you will enjoy the visit. If you are not a fan, maybe it is a waste of 12 euros.

I really enjoyed my visit in this museum. When I visited it, there was an interactive exposition where the artist represented the feeling of earthquakes in the area of Groningen. The founder of the museum was the cigar manufacturer van Abbe, who donated this museum in 1933 for “living artists” and the collect art pieces since then. The museum gives... More

beside the interesting museum with lots of famous paintings and different other things to see - it´s also a great combination between old and new building, situated in the city center and directly located at river Dommel....

So far from being unaccessible (most places that try to do conceptual art well fail miserably), this one is spot on and very interesting. You don't need to know a thing about art before you walk in and they don't try to sell it to you - they just present modern art in chronological order. It's very clear and there... More

It is near the center and a large park surrounded by the city. The works are alternated with screening rooms in a complex path of rooms. We also tried a new artificial earthquake simulation experience with the assistance of a very kind crew. free wifi, a gift shop and a nice bar are available

Enjoyed an afternoon amongst the art, dreaming of art I should someday make. Not large, but varied collection.
