Wandered up after visiting the market. What a thriving area with a great vibe. Great variety of shops and " coffee" shops. Funky clothes etc and closer to home than I thought.

If you want to be treated badly by arrogant staff then you have found the perfect place! If on the other hand you want a pleasant experience go somewhere else, anywhere else

Variety of shops and restaurants including 4 weed coffee shops selling interesting wares in trendy but unpretentious area 5 minutes walk from Central station. Great for people watching, safe for families providing you look right way for passing cyclists!

This great street plus Haarlemmerdijk, just off Central Station has an amazing variety of shops. Try great sandwiches at Iberico, healthy organic foods at Marqt, Vinnies and Stach or Vietnamese. For shopping love the Tenue de Nimes stores, Sukha and Ontfront for fashion.

Relatively short street, plenty to see and do during the day, but not much after dusk...well situated for tasty food, souvenirs, and for those inclined, the "coffee shops". It is a busy, and fun district until around 7 pm, when most shops / restaurants closed for the day. It is Super close to the train station, and to the hop... More

Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
