Really cosy brown cafe with super staff. I think they appreciated our efforts in Dutch despite obviously being tourists. It was busy with a locals (good sign) but despite this, the barman was keen on bringing our drinks to the table. Great choice of beer...More

Just happened to come across this lovely old fashioned pub. Lovely decor. Lovely staff. Got a smoking room at back with a large biljart (billiards table). No fancy cocktail menu just beer and spritits. Very welcoming would return

We stayed across the road from Cafe Chris and popped in for a drink on our first night. We tried a beer we hadn't heard of and had a cosy seat in the corner. The bar was quiet, but it was a rainy Monday evening....More

I stumbled across "Cafe Chris" whilst having a wander during my recent trip to Amsterdam. I felt an obligation to go in as the bar, rather than a cafe, is my namesake. I was impressed the moment I entered, noticing the old touches to the...More

Oldest brown cafe in the town. Fabulous place were the locals meet to talk, have a drink (or two) and a game of pool. Good selection of beers.

One of two bars I always head for when in Amsterdam, I am never disappointed. It's a small, brown cafe with stained glass windows, in the heart of the beautiful Jordaan where many locals hang out and few tourists. I've sat for many hours drinking...More

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.
