Fantastic Station. Really easy to find train for Schiphol Airport when returning there. Had a bit of a nightmare with hiring a secure locker in the station where another guy and myself ordered a locker at same time. Attendant got our lockers numbers the wrong way round so when I went back to my locker on way home, I couldn't... More

I love using public transport abroad and the experience of finding your way. This station was great. All the staff were friendly and helpful and finding your way is easy. There's a couple of shops, cafes and supermarket inside.

Located in the center of the city you will pass by many times. If you want to travel anywhere outside the city you will end up here. Many trains, buses, and trams have their final destination here, so if you get lost you can find where your are here.

Typical train station buzzing with people. Easy enough to navigate and handy from the airport. If you're from the US, your credit card probably won't work with the ticketing machines. Just go to the service counter for tickets and the lady behind the glass will make your card work.

There's no doubting the fact that the Central Station in Amsterdam is the city center of all tourists. It is amazingly connected with the Schiphol Airport and takes you to anywhere in and around Amsterdam in a ziffy. This is worth a visit if you are using the trains to commute on a regular basis. You will admire the architecture... More

Behind the beautiful facade of the building the station has a lot of well marked platforms as well as many shops and food outlets. The main platform concorse is big and open and reminds me of a much larger and grander kings cross station. The station staff were all very helpful and polite on the several occasions we spoke with... More

Travelling by train is very easy. Plenty of ticket machines that are easy to use and the personnel in the information booths are very knowledgeable.

The Amsterdam train station is a beautiful attraction to see. It's also very centrally located to the sites and a good place to catch a tram.

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
