A quiet pretty neighborhood, where you can have a stroll, have a drink, read a book and relax in. It's very close to Amsterdams busy area but is much quieter. We used Rick Steves app for a tour around. Very enjoyable.

This is a great neighborhood. It is VERY quiet at night, We rented a flat here (from TripAdvisor of course) and have been well pleased. We are on Bloemgracht which is easy walking distance to many restaurants (a lot of ethnic choices), the Anne Frank...More

Other than it being a unique neighbourhood with small shops in it that you might like, I'm not sure what all the buzz is.

A little quieter part of Amsterdam with nice cafes and restaurant mixed with residential properties and boutiques putting there wares on display. Far less busy than the Dam Square.

Great atmosphere as almost all quarters of Amsterdam's but a little bit calmer. Away from the meddling crowd and with some fine jewels and hidden corners and secrets to discover.

Jordaan is basically a cluster of old houses, numerous canals, roadside cafes and shops.Walk leisurely down the streets soaking in the sarroundings. There were flowers blooming everywhere making the area colourful.

One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and
some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two
of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll
through this especially convivial warren of narrow
streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and
quality galleries. Historically a haven for the
working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is
better known as an enclave for artists and designers.

Sorry but I am not sure.. Maybe one of the romantic tours because there were smaller boats moored along the canals.

Yes it would! The neighborhood just next to Jordaan is called "the Nine Streets," and you can get a good idea of what's going on in the neighborhoods by taking a look at their webpages, which include a lot of articles... More
