Unique museum in which you move from room to room - at a timed pace - while the history is presented in snippets and vignettes. My wife loved it, I found some of the rooms feeling like they were stuck in there because they needed...More

This museum was for us a distinct disappointment. The ticket counter doubles as the museum shop counter; if there is a problem with a shop customer, the staff is focused on this case. After we showed our Dutch museum pass, we were left in the...More

The museum is more about the history of Amsterdam's houses around the canals (canals = grachten) than about the canals itself. Nevertheless, very interesting quite small museum in a beautiful building and location. There is a audio guide in different languages, the tour starts very...More

We nearly missed going to this museum because it's not in the Amsterdam top 50 on TripAdvisor. But it was my favourite visit during a 3 day break. Held in a really beautiful house, with a fascinating history of how the city came to be...More

Tho not too big, the museum gives plenty of information. The audioguide, a variety of animation, and the creatively designed displays made the experience fun and interesting. Good for people of all ages and definitely recommended!

This museum is small, but packed with information, very well presented. It had plenty of information, but was still fun, gave just the right level of detail, taught history but brought the info to the future. We spent 80 minutes, which was also just right....More

This is small museum located in a canal side house. The museum has been very carefully designed and makes the most of its story, which it tells by audio visual displays and some excellent models. The town house is particularly clever. An excellent place to...More
