Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.

I dont know why everyone is complaining. The museum is not spectacular but it is not bad, especially for the few euros entrance fee. You can find sculptures, shirtless Mona Lisa picture and a room where you can sit and watch sexy cartoons, among the other things.

cheap and fun thing to visit whilst in red light district. Only 7 euros each to enter compared to other museum on the strip which was 22 euros. Three floors of random funny exhibits, we were in here for about 15 minutes but had a great laugh, was fairly quiet also, we were only ones on certain floors. would defo come back here considering the price, great fun

While most tourists flock to the well known Sexmuseum, I actually preferred the Erotic Museum as my favourite 'alternative' museum venue in Amsterdam. And when I say alternative, I obviously mean erotic, with strictly adult content.
Not for the faint hearted, this museum has five floors of hardcore sexual images and appliances accounting for just about every taste. This establishment is a lot racier than the Sexmuseum, and I personally found it even more entertaining. The variety of material is fascinating. There are even displays where you can pose for photographs!
The Erotic Museum is located in the very heart of the Red Light District and is hard to miss, with its red neon lighting out front, as well two 'naughty' fountains directly opposite the entrance. It is hard to go into much detail here, but if you're visiting the Red Light District and are an open minded individual with a relaxed attitude towards sex, then I would definitely recommend a visit. :-)

Just like the review above...this is not for the faint of heart or for some who is not openminded. You will see pictures of things that are probably illegal in most countries.....think "animals." But, it was a fun stop in a very busy day. Have Fun!!

Museum is small (3 floors only) and lot of people could say it should not be called like that. For sure it's nice to see a take a different point of view on museum and "erotic life".
Go there if you can - it's worth of it.

At €7, this is such a waste of money.
I would suggest to avoid as there's nothing interesting, noting of value - even if it was free, it would be a waste of time.
Go to the SexMuseum which is far better, has more on offer.... AND CHEAPER!

We went around the erotic museum on our last day as something to do. It was cheap and really funny to go around as well as being interesting. Would recommend as something cheap and good to do.

Found this museum quite interesting, had a lot of collections & I thought the tickets were extremely cheap considering the rest of the museums in Amsterdam!

I wish I have read the reviews before going there. It is really NOT worth € 7, esp.compared to the museum of Prostitution for € 8+1,5 (for the audio and Sex museum for € 5. I just dropped in to have a rest and wait for the rain to stop.
Nothing much to see. A lot of artifacts are photos and posters and figurines. No explanations. Nothing interactional. Just a mute collection without any real concept. 5 stores, but tiny ones. The cartoons are stupid.
No washroom. The gift shop was closed when I exited and there was no note about it. Just wasted 40 minutes and € 7.
