Our guidebook reccomended this place so we stopped for a blues night. Really a nice choice. This bar is really great, with strange decorations and a small stage on the back. You can listen to good music every single day: for free when in jam session. Really enjoyed the cozy, familiar atmosphere.

Had a really good evening here. The live music was really cool and they've got different artists on most nights and door entry was just €5 The people were varied and friendly

Decades of Rock, Blues, sweat and beer have crafted a singular atmosphere that MUST be experienced. Live music, Open Mic nights, an accordion-playing bartender with a great sense of humor and a background in legit Blues . . . All adds up to "Stop HERE next time you are in Amsterdam!" For NYC area friends, this is like a rocking... More

If your looking for some great blues in an small venue this is the place. I went on a Saturday. The band did t start till 11 so we figured we would only go for one set we staid for two. This place reminded me of some of the back alley pubs when I go to New Orleans. Nothing fancy... More

It's an occupational hazard of mine. My work trips don't always coincide with the best going-out nights. So it was with this place: I was there tonight (a Monday night) and it was very quiet. In fact, when the two musicians began playing at 11pm, they outnumbered the audience, which was me. The ratio became 3:1 when they were joined... More

The place was full of interesting characters!! Everyone was really welcoming and willing to have conversation. Bar staff are very friendly, not to mention there are bands playing every night of the week, which is hard to come across in Amsterdam. The place felt like home after my first visit.

Great little bar with an amazing atmosphere! Was really lucky and got a chance to listen to a fantastic blues jam session on Saturday night! I wish there were more places like this!

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
